World War II-dated oversized 30.75 x 41.25 salesman’s sample of a calendar for August 1943 entitled United We Stand,’ featuring colorful main artwork of a Raymond James Stuart painting of an Uncle Sam character with hammer and anvil against a factory background with warplanes, tanks, battleships, and guns. Upper and lower text read: “Work, Fight and Buy Bonds” and “The Thos. D. Murphy Co., Red Oak, Iowa. The Birthplace of Art Calendars.” Printed by the Thos. D. Murphy Co., Red Oak, Iowa. In fine, folded condition, with some wear to bottom edge.
