In Peter Bogdonovitch’s book of interviews with famous director WHO THE DEVIL MADE IT, director Raoul Walsh said that the star of this movie – whom he refused to name in the interview – stole the wife of a prominent Mexican official in LA, so that when the time came to go to Mexico City to film this movie on location, they were all denied visas and had to resort to filming in California.
