“OVERSHADOWS ANY PICTURE EVER MADE!”
“A FRANK CAPRA PRODUCTION”
Beyond RARE! This is an Original 1931 30″ x 40″ ‘Meloy Brothers” style poster for the early Frank Capra action-adventure-romance, DIRIGIBLE starring Jack Holt, Ralph Graves, Fay Wray, Hobart Bosworth and Roscoe Karns. This extremely scarce 30″ x 40″ poster for Capra’s DIRIGIBLE is adhered to a board almost identically to the Meloy Bros. 40 x 60 posters, has some small surface dings, three pin-holes in the space above Fay Wray’s eye and many others in the top corners and scattered elsewhere, edgewear and it appears as if it has been brushed with a varnish type protectant. And while I mention these issues for full disclosure, none of these seriously detracts from the striking artwork of the three principle actors composed in a way to reflect the love triangle as these two men vie for the heart of Fay Wray in their race against one another to reach the South Pole; one in a Zeppelin that crashes shortly after take-off, and the other in an airplane which crashes later only to be rescued by the Dirigible! This may be the only 30″ x 40″ in existence from this early Frank Capra film, and this board-backed 30″ x 40″ poster for DIRIGIBLE is overall in Good to Very Good Condition.
